Description

A significant number of app downloads occur as a result of being found in the app stores via keyword search. Ranking reports are essential tools for tracking the visibility of your app(s) against strategically important keywords. By monitoring changes in rank they can be used to gauge the effectiveness of your promotional efforts, new app versions and to keep track of your competitors or new entrants to the market. An experienced app project manager will upload your target keywords and competitors into our monitoring software, creating a report listing your ranking for each keyword that you will receive in an Excel format.

Here’s when Apple App Store Rank Monitoring can help!

Overview

For developers and marketers seeking a return on development efforts, ranking high in the app stores can mean more awareness, downloads and revenue.

Apps that experience a decline in rankings need to be addressed, either by promotional activities to boost discovery, or by improving the user experience, just as the net impact of promotional efforts or introducing changes to your app(s) should be measured. Additionally, the competition in some categories can be extremely intense which will only increase as more organisations choose to tap into mobile savvy audiences. All this means that monitoring becomes the cornerstone of maintaining a successful and effective app.

The app stores use algorithms to formulate rankings for keyword searches, which is the discovery method of choice, thus it's important to identify strategically important keywords and monitor the ranking of your app(s) against these.

Using our monitoring software we'll provide an overview to show rankings of your iPhone and/or iPad app(s) against your chosen keywords, in up to 49 countries worldwide. We recommend running frequent reports (monthly as a minimum) to highlight rank changes over time and especially whilst conducting promotional activities and launching new features or versions.

Monitoring rank changes may enable you to determine if promotional efforts are having an impact on rankings. We can also track competitors and gain insights into their ranking trends or identify when new entrants appear against strategically important keywords without the hassle of doing manual searches.

Quality process

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks. We will need to know your target keywords for the relevant country (per app). You can also suggest up to 5 competitors to track per country (per app), however your project manager can suggest the main competitors if necessary.

An experienced app project manager will upload your chosen keywords and competitors into our monitoring software and create a report to illustrate where your iPhone and/or iPad app ranks against each keyword.

We will deliver the report, in Excel format, which shows the rank of your app(s) for each keyword, as well as your nominated top 5 competitors.
