US Teens Use YouTube And Gmail More Than Social Media

A poll taken in the US has shown that teenage internet users use YouTube and Gmail more than social media. YouTube was the most popular website for teenagers, with a staggering 91% saying they used the site. Surprisingly, Gmail came second with 75%, ahead of social media giants like Twitter, which is reportedly only used by 40% of teens in the country, putting it well down the list. Of the 804 users aged between 13 and 18 questioned, just 61% said they used Facebook, behind Snapchat and Instagram, which were both on around 65%. However, teenage use of social media is expected to grow from 17.5 million users this year, to 18.2 million by 2020.
