The UK has proposed plans to improve digital travel regulation to account for increased online buying. Under the new ATOL law, UK travel companies will be required to hold a license to sell flights included with a holiday. Then, if the travel company goes out of business before the flight, the consumers will be refunded by the Civil Aviation Authority. The government say that this is due to “significant changes in the travel market with the emergence of new digital business models and changes in consumer purchasing behaviour”.Â
