A report which studied 1.2 billion consumer interactions from major brands has revealed which companies get the best online engagement. The study looked at things like social media likes, retweets and shares on nearly 165,000 posts from 305 brands. It was found that the brand with the most user engagement was Mercedes-Benz, with fellow German car manufacturer BMW following in second place. Of the top 25 brands, nine were automotive companies. Fashion brands were also prominent in the top 25, with eight featuring in the list. The number one ranked brand, Mercedes-Benz, had fifteen times more likes, retweets and shares than 25th placed Warner Bros.
