The South Korean search engine Naver has announced it will completely change the layout of its mobile website. It comes after it has been engulfed in a fake news and opinion-rigging scandal after it prominently displayed a popular blogger accused of swinging public opinion in the country's presidential election. In response, Naver will remove all news articles from the front page, as well as real-time top search keywords. News articles will be moved to a second page which users must swipe right to view. Naver will also stop editing and arranging news and comments, handing over this responsibility to the news providers themselves. Naver's CEO commented on the dramatic shake-up, saying: “We decided to change the main page of Naver's mobile site so that it is more search-oriented.” The changes do not affect Naver's desktop version.Â
