Local Social Networks Are Most Popular In South Korea

A report has shown that social media users in South Korea lean towards home grown platforms, rather than global names like Facebook. The survey by Nielsen KoreanClick found that the two leading social media apps on Android were Band, with 15 million unique users each day, and KakaoStory which had 13.7 million users. Meanwhile, Facebook can only boast 10 million unique users per day, followed by Instagram with 5.7 million users. However, it was found by DMC Media that Facebook is used for longer each day by all social media users aged between 19 and 59. Facebook is also popular amongst South Korea's marketers, with more brands using it than any other platform.
