The popular Indian messaging app Hike has launched a new image-based feature called Stories. Stories allows users to share photos and will replace Hike's timeline feature that it launched last year. Stories bears a striking similarity to Snapchat, with features such as filters, face swapping and stickers. Currently, Stories only works with photos, but Hike has said that it wants to expand it to cover videos by the end of the year. Hike's CEO commented on the roll-out of Stories, saying: “One of our goals for 2016 has been to bring photos [to] the centre of Hike. The stories and the live filters will do just that. I really believe the camera is the new keyboard.” Hike is the second most popular messaging app in India, with 100 million registered users.Â
