Google is testing a 'Lite' version of its search app, for regions with slow internet speeds. Currently, the app is being tested in Indonesia where it is available via the Google Play store. Most of the features available on the normal version appear to be available on Search Lite, and users can tap on icons to choose which types of search results they want to see, from standard search results to news, images and more. The app uses minimal amounts of data, allowing people to use most of the normal features in areas where there is limited access to good internet. Google is concentrating hard on reaching people in countries with slow internet speeds. As well as testing Search Lite, Google is also working on a low-data version of its Android operating system called Android Go.
