Google Headphones Translate In Real-Time

Google has unveiled a set of new headphones that translate spoken languages in real-time. The Pixel Buds allow the wearer to both speak and understand foreign languages, and were demonstrated successfully at a Google launch event. In order to “speak” in a foreign language, the wearer needs to hold down a button on the right earbud and say “Help me speak Swedish”, for example. When they speak, the connected smartphone will play the Swedish translation through its speaker. When the other person responds in Swedish, a translation in the wearer's own language will play through the headphones. The Pixel Buds are due to go on sale for £159 next month, and are compatible with Android and Pixel smartphones running on operating system 7.0 Nougat or higher. The headphones use Google Translate and will be able to support 40 different languages.
