The beverage company Coca-Cola has announced that it wants to make India its third largest market worldwide. James Quincey, the company's CEO, said in a recent trip to the country that he wants to take India, which is its sixth largest market currently, to third place globally in the not-too-distant future. India is currently behind the US, Mexico, China, Brazil and Japan in terms of sales of Coca-Cola products. To help push India to third place, Coca-Cola will invest 5 billion US dollars in the Indian market by 2020. It will also look at expanding its offerings beyond carbonated drinks, with non-sparkling drinks, juice, dairy- and coffee-based drinks in the pipeline.
