China's Ministry of Culture has further tightened its online streaming regulations. This time, the new rules change the way in which Chinese gamers can stream the games they play, online. Approval is now needed from authorities before a game can be streamed online by its players, making it extremely difficult for independent games developers in the country who even at the moment have trouble getting an official go-ahead. Successful online streaming sites will also lose out, as they will now only be allowed to stream a select number of games. Sites such as Panda.tv have tens of millions of viewers who will be affected by the change. The new regulation comes just months after the government limited the games that Chinese gamers are allowed to play.
