The Chinese search engine Baidu has launched its own version of Google's Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project. Named Mobile Instant Pages (MIP), the initiative encourages webmasters to create mobile-friendly webpages by using extremely lightweight code. Mobile Instant Pages must use stripped down versions of HTML, JavaScript and cache. Baidu has said that these Mobile Instant Pages will be given higher rankings in the search results. Webmasters are advised to submit their Mobile Instant Pages via a MIP submission tool in Baidu Webmaster Tools to ensure they are indexed. After submission, you will also be able to validate your MIPs.Â
