Android Pay Launches In Poland

Android Pay has gone live in its first country in Eastern Europe; Poland. It is also only the second country to get access to the service in the whole of Europe after the UK. The manager of Poland at MasterCard Europe says that “a high market share of Android…and a highly developed payment infrastructure” are reasons why Google has targeted the country. Polish MasterCard customers will now be able to pay for items in the country if contactless payment is available. There will be around 425,000 terminals around the country where the service can be used, but it is expected that it will soon be available through shopping apps as well.
