Yahoo is to change its name to Altaba. The sale of the company to Verizon was reported in 2016, and once completed will result in a name change comprised of the words 'alternative' and 'Alibaba', the Chinese giant whom it has a 15% stake in. The completion of the sale will also remove the six directors at the head of the business, including CEO Marissa Mayer, who has led Yahoo since 2012.Â
