Twitter has begun testing a subscription-style ad service that sees posts being automatically promoted up to ten times every day. Businesses simply have to pay 99 US dollars each month, with Twitter then automatically promoting the business’ profile and tweets. The test is currently only available as an invite-only beta programme, and is aimed primarily at smaller advertisers who use Twitter’s self-serve ad-buying tools. Twitter has said that subscribers do not have to “[create and optimise] separate Twitter Ads campaigns”. However, brands will not be able to choose which tweets are promoted and those that sign up to the programme will lose their ability to use the normal Twitter ad platform.
