Twitter has taken the decision to jump aboard the deep learning train, by introducing AI to its platform. Following Facebook, Google and countless other brands, Twitter recently introduced the technology to its site in order to start presenting tweets to users in order of relevance, as well as other improvements. According to Twitter, algorithms on the platform will use the new AI in areas such as “Natural Language Processing, conversation understanding, and media domains”. According to experts, this will improve user experience by picking up on engaging posts, on a site that has in the past been criticised for becoming confusing and outdated. Twitter added that tests of the new software had shown “significant increases in metrics such as Tweet engagement and time spent on the platform”.Â
