Promoted Videos can be paired with Promoted Pins, meaning that users can click below the video to read more about and buy the products that were just shown in the video. Pinterest hopes that the launch of Promoted Video will give advertisers an exciting new way to connect with potential customers. Recent research by Mary Meeker has shown that 55% of the 100 million people who visit Pinterest every month are looking for products to discover or buy. In beta testing, Promoted Videos saw high completion rates and were considered 4 times as memorable as a non-video advert.
