Majority Of SEOs Have Not Implemented AMPs

Research by SEO Powersuite has revealed that the majority of SEOs have not yet implemented AMP webpages. AMPs, or Accelerated Mobile Pages, are webpages that are designed to load extremely quickly on a mobile device. Google has said that load time and page speed are ranking factors in its algorithm, meaning that if websites want to do well in the mobile SERPs, it is best practice to create Accelerated Mobile Pages. However, the research showed that despite three-quarters of SEOs saying they were aware of AMPs, and half predicting that AMPs will have a significant impact on search engine rankings, only 23% have so far implemented AMPs on their websites. This means that mobile marketers have an opportunity to get ahead of competitors by implementing AMPs before the practice becomes more mainstream.
