International Space Station Added To Google Maps

Google Maps has added the International Space Station to its Street-View feature. It is the first time that the company's Google Maps feature has included anything “off-planet”. Images of the interior of the space station have been annotated with pop-up descriptions. Google has said that it hopes that the space station's inclusion will encourage members of the public to learn more about space exploration and the science behind it. Alice Liu from Google called the International Space Station “an engineering marvel that people should care about and know about”. The images were taken by astronauts on board the station, using cameras that were already up there. These were then stitched together by Google to produce the finished product.
