Digital Travel Sales In India To Hit $22.5 Billion

Digital travel sales in India are looking set to reach more than 22.5 billion US dollars by the end of 2017. Due to the recent demonetisation of two high value banknotes in the country, digital payments and sales have seen a high level of growth. The forecasting analyst Jaimie Chung has said that, with this growth in mind, the country has a great opportunity to make a substantial move into a predominantly cashless, mobile-focused market. India is currently seeing a growth rate of 33% in digital travel sales, with the APAC region being the most established online travel region in the world. By the end of this year, with help from India's surge in growth, the Asia Pacific region is set to overtake North America as the biggest digital travel spender, accounting for 35% of all digital travel sales.
