Baidu Maps Expands To Cover 150 Countries

Baidu's mobile and desktop mapping service will now cover around 150 countries. The update will make the service available for use in countries within Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia, providing services for 99% of the world's population. Li Dongmin, general manager of Baidu Map, said that it will “finally transform from a Chinese map provider to a world map provider”. The service is currently used by 300 million users within China each month, with 100 million using it in their cars. Li also added that the company will “strengthen in-depth cooperation with overseas governments” in order to “increase local impact".
