Apple Launches Persian Keyboard Option

Apple has launched a Persian keyboard option for iPhones and iPads. Previously, Persian speakers had had to use an Arabic keyword on these devices, which was not ideal as the Persian alphabet contains 4 extra letters and a half-space feature that are not found in the Arabic alphabet. The launch has been met with excitement from many Iranians, who can now communicate properly in their own language on Apple devices. However, other commentators have pointed out double standards, as Apple has recently removed a number of apps made in Iran from its app store in response to US sanctions.
