Amazon has announced that its recent Prime Day event was the company's most successful day of sales ever. Launched on the evening of the 10th of July, and running for 30 hours, sales on the 11th of July beat Amazon's 2016 Black Friday and Cyber Monday records. According to CEO Jeff Bezos, total revenue increased 60% over last year's equivalent event. The best-selling item over the event was Amazon's own Echo Dot home speaker, which was being sold at significant discounts.
