Ad Blocking Reaches Record Levels Worldwide

A survey by Blockmetry, performed in August, has unveiled a trend in the increased use of ad blocking worldwide. Whilst the use of ad blocking programs has increased worldwide, it was noted that Norway has now become the first country to break through the 50% mark, as more than half of its internet users currently use the technology. Following Norway were France on 45% and India on 44%, both up from 39% in just the last 3 months. Over the same time period, South America saw ad blocking increase from 25% to nearly a third of its online population. Meanwhile, Germany became the first major market to surpass the 20% mark when it came to analytics blocking, with exactly a third of internet users now using the software.
