With an officially approved Rakuten merchant account, you will have access to your shop interface, allowing you to manage your listings and other settings.

With this service, we will open a Rakuten merchant account for your business.

How it works

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks.

We will need you to provide us with the following information:

  • your registered business name and business sector
  • your DUNS number (nine-digit identifier), also known as your Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) code
  • a brief list of the items you want to sell on Rakuten, as they must comply with Japanese laws
  • any other relevant and necessary documents, if required by Rakuten

Upon receipt of all the required information, one of our Content Management Administrators will open a Rakuten merchant account for your company. We will ensure that the account is officially approved and manageable.

You will then receive the account login details and information.

Please note that this service covers the account opening process only. It does not include setting up your online store with your products, page maintenance or marketing campaigns. These can be ordered as additional services.

Please note that Rakuten charges 60,000 Japanese yen to open a merchant account (which is approximately GBP 400 or USD 540), which is a separate cost to our service charge. You can choose to pay this to Rakuten directly or through us.
