Baidu is the most popular search engine in China, with a market share of around 60%. It is a very important and efficient channel to promote your brand in China. With Baidu PPC, your ads will show when users search for the keywords you are bidding on. You only pay when the user clicks on the ads. Failing to use Baidu as part of your Chinese paid search campaign will result in you missing out on a large proportion of Chinese internet traffic and potential customers.
It is not straight forward to advertise on Baidu, as their administration and communication can be quite complicated to non-Chinese businesses. Each application may require different documents from the advertiser and the validation process at Baidu can be highly circumstantial. Each account must go through an application process which requires documentation, such as licenses to trade, which must be translated into Simplified Chinese, and possibly other requirements.
