High quality transcreation, guaranteed

Depending on the intended use of your documentation, there may be a necessity to combine elements of content creation within the translation workflow. This process is known as transcreation. Transcreation is mainly used for content of a more marketing nature where you may want to allow the translator a bit of freedom to edit the original source copy or create new content following provided guidelines. We can also liaise with your in-country teams in order for our translators to produce transcreated content you are extremely happy with.

Transcreation can help...

When you are happy to allow the translator a bit of freedom when it comes to the original source content.

When you need your content to differ from country to country.

When you have content from your corporate headquarters which requires an element of editing or content creation in order to suit your region.

When you have established guidelines for content creation and want to involve your in-country teams in the translation workflow in order for a translator to produce content of a high standard.

What is transcreation?

Depending on the intended use of your documentation, there may be a necessity to combine elements of content creation within the translation workflow. This process is known as transcreation.

Transcreation is mainly used for content of a more marketing nature where you may want to allow the translator a bit of freedom to edit the original source copy or create new content following provided guidelines. There may also be a need for content to differ from country to country so transcreation may prove more beneficial in such instances.

In order to ensure high quality content, we will ask for guidelines on content creation with each job which requires transcreation. A style guide and glossary will also be created at the start of our working relationship to enable consistency across all content moving forward. We can also liaise with your in-country teams in order for our translators to produce content you are extremely happy with.

Please note that this offering is not copywriting. Transcreation is intended for use when content to be translated requires a small element of editing and content creation.

How transcreation works

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks.

We will ask you to provide your materials in an editable format which we can easily localise for your target markets, as well as any company guidelines you have for creating content which can be shared with our translator. Should you wish, we can engage your in-country contacts, if available, to make sure that the translated content captures your brand essence and adheres to your guidelines, producing transcreated content of a high standard.

We will put a lot of preparation into setting up our relationship and make sure that we have a clear localised style guide and glossary before we begin. We will also provide sample translations from some of our most suited translators to allow you to choose exactly who will work on your content moving forward. We require the content for translation to be provided prior to the start of the project. This will allow us to submit initial costing based upon your particular requirements and will aid in the selection of an appropriate translator. Ideally, if you have any previously translated content, as well as examples of content which have been created from scratch, we would also request that you send it to us to use as reference material.

A skilled Project Manager will be assigned to your project and they will arrange and monitor the translation process. They will also act as your point of contact throughout the whole project and once the project is finalised, will deliver the translated content by the agreed deadline and in your preferred format.
