Description

If you are about to embark on a translation project and you want to ensure that a specific 'voice' is used in your translated content, it is a good idea to create a style guide for the translators to use as reference material when working on your projects. Your dedicated project manager will work with you to create your style guide, using your existing English style guide or example translations if available, to identify the style that you wish to be used in your translated material.

Here’s when style guide creation can help!

Overview

Before embarking on a new translation project it is important that all preparation stages are completed successfully as this will help the project to run smoothly. Depending on the type of document to be translated, you may wish for a specific kind of 'voice' to come through in the written content.

Creating a style guide for the translator to follow is an excellent measure to take in such a situation as it allows you to provide direct input into how the translator should style your content. This will result in consistency throughout the translated literature and also provides support for future projects.

We will work with you to create a style guide for your brand, delivering this to you to personally check and sign off prior to the start of a translation project with us.

Quality process

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks.

If you have an existing style guide for how your English content should be written, then we will ask that you make this available. If you do not have an existing style guide, then we will ask you to provide us with examples of existing translations which you definitely like the style of.

Your dedicated project manager will work with you to create your style guide. The project manager may ask you to provide for further clarification as and when required. They will provide you with a final version of the style guide to be signed off prior to the start of the translation project.

Please note that this service only includes the creation of a style guide and does not include any other preparation stages of the translation project.
