When targeting a keyword, it's helpful to understand the difficulty rating of that particular keyword in your target language to understand the likely success of targeting it as part of your international SEO campaign. You might also find it useful to plan your campaign by stages depending on the difficulty of the phrase. This could be particularly useful in planning seasonal campaigns as you will need to work out when to start the optimisation work to ensure the phrase ranks in time.
