The global payment company Adyen has partnered up with Yandex.Checkout. The partnership means that retailers that use Adyen can now accept a range of Yandex.Checkout payment options, including online banking, e-wallets and cash via payment kiosks and mobile retailers. This will help merchants who want to target the Russian market, where Yandex.Checkout is one of the most popular online payment methods. A spokesperson from Adyen commented on the partnership, saying: “Thanks to Yandex.Checkout, our merchants can now offer a variety of [the] most popular local payment methods without the need to set up a local entity, via one simple integration with Adyen”. Russia is one of the fastest growing ecommerce markets in the world. In the first half of 2017, ecommerce sales volumes increased by 22% compared to the same period the previous year.
