Twitter Launches Live Video Broadcasting

Twitter has launched live video broadcasting on its Android and iOS apps. To broadcast a live video, you need to write a tweet and then click the “Live” button. This will bring up a pre-broadcast screen where you will be able to see what your viewers will see, allowing you to position your camera appropriately. You will then be able to click the “Go Live” button to start your live broadcast. Your video will be visible to everyone on Twitter and Periscope, and viewers will be able to comment on your video as its being broadcast and leave hearts to show their support. Twitter hopes that live video broadcasting will help individuals and businesses to connect with their audience in a more immersive, interactive and interesting way. Live video has been rolled out to all Twitter app users globally. Selected partners can also broadcast live in 360 degrees, and it is thought that this will be rolled out more widely in the future.
