The ads will use the same lightweight code as the pages themselves
Google has announced that it will be introducing 3 advertising formats to its accelerated mobile pages, or AMPs.
AMPs are webpages that are really lightweight when it comes to their code, and are designed to load super-fast on a mobile device.
The 3 advertising formats that will work on AMPs will be sticky ads, flying carpet ads, and “AMP Ads For AMP Pages”.
Sticky ads are those which stick to the top or bottom of the page as you scroll through it.
Flying carpet ads are those which display a large ad in the background which displays as a user scrolls by it.
AMP Ads For AMP Pages are a new ad format and will supposedly use the same lightweight code as AMP pages, to ensure that they load as quickly as possible.
Google has said that these ad formats will be introduced on AMP pages within the next quarter.
