Snapchat has released its Snap Publisher tool, enabling brands to edit their own video ad campaigns to work on the platform. Snap Publisher allows anyone with full access to the company’s ad-buying tool, Snap Ad Manager, to edit horizontally-produced videos into vertical ones. This enables brands to create videos more suited for Snapchat, which has been previously criticised for being difficult to advertise on. The new feature also allows publishers to pull images or videos directly from their own websites. Snapchat said in a statement that brands may import media from any pages “which you have the legal right to obtain media from”. These files can then be automatically cropped within the feature’s edit tool. These image or video edits can then be customised by the advertiser, if the automatic results are not suitable.
