Pinterest Rolls Out Targeting For Promoted Pins

Pinterest has rolled out new targeting features on its Promoted Pins advertising service. The new targeting options are interest targeting, keyword targeting and customer database targeting. Interest targeting allows advertisers to target users based on their current interests. Advertisers can choose from a list of over 420 different interests. Keyword targeting allows advertisers to select which keywords they want their Promoted Pins to appear for when users search for a keyword on Pinterest. Customer database targeting allows advertisers to create and target lists of users from their existing customers. Pinterest has also announced that it has expanded its Promoted Pins service to small-to-medium sized businesses in the US and the UK. Previously, Promoted Pins had only been available to large businesses. It is expected to launch Promoted Pins in other English-speaking countries later this year. Pinterest is one of the most popular image-sharing websites in the world, with around 100 million users, 85% of whom are female.
