Pinterest Rolls Out Pincodes For Businesses

Pinterest has rolled out custom QR codes for businesses. They are called Pincodes and work in the same way as QR codes, although they differ in appearance. Whilst QR codes look like a square containing smaller black and white squares, Pincodes are a circular image surrounded by an array of colourful dots. These Pincodes can be placed anywhere, for example on a physical product's label or on a TV advert. When a user takes a picture of a Pincode using Pinterest's in-app camera, they can be taken to either the business' Pinterest profile or a Pin Board that they've created, whichever the business chooses. Pinterest hopes that the new feature will make it easier for businesses on Pinterest to attract users and drive sales through the platform.
