Pinterest has added a new zoom feature to its visual search engine. For now, the feature will simply help users to zoom into the image they are looking at, but there are plans to use the feature in conjunction with Pinterest’s visual search development. In this case, users will be able to search for individual objects within a single image, by zooming into the object and having the platform’s AI identify objects such as chairs or plants. Additionally, Pinterest is also making its search feature available to people who are not signed into the platform for the first time. The company has extended the search engine beyond apps and its main website by now offering a Chrome extension, allowing people to visually search the web without being signed in.
