Instagram has started testing a way to help users shop for products on the social network. With the new format, users can tap on a post to learn more about the products in the picture. This will bring up tags showing what the items are and how much they cost, for up to five items. When a user clicks on one of these tags, they will be brought to another page within Instagram which will show a more detailed description of the product and a Shop Now button. If the user clicks on this button, they will be taken to a page on the business’ own website. The test currently covers 20 US retailers, but Instagram says that it intends to roll it out further in the future.
