Instagram has rolled out advertising for Stories. Stories adverts are immersive, full-screen adverts that appear between Instagram Stories and can be either a single photo or a video up to 15 seconds long. These adverts can be optimised by reach, meaning that advertisers can maximise the number of people who see their ads and control how often they see them. The ads use the same measurement and targeting tools as in-feed Facebook and Instagram ads. You can create ads for Instagram Stories using Adverts Manager, Power Editor or the Marketing API. To do this, you need to choose the “Reach” objective when you create an ad. You then need to click on “Placements” in the Ad Set section and choose “Instagram” and then “Stories”. Instagram hopes that Instagram Stories adverts will help advertisers reach out to their audiences in a way that really brings their message to life.
