Speedtest has released the first of a number of monthly reports on global internet speed. The Speedtest Global Index report ranks each country in order of broadband and mobile speed, based on data collected over the previous month. It was found that Norway had the fastest mobile connection in the world by quite some way, ahead of the Netherlands and Hungary, which took second and third place respectively. Meanwhile, Singapore had the fastest broadband connection, ahead of fellow Far Eastern countries South Korea and Hong Kong, which came in second and third. Ookla, the company behind Speedtest, said that it intends to be a “go-to resource for global internet performance data”, which it will update “with data based on the previous month at the beginning of every month”.
