Facebook To Remove Some Boosted Post Options

Facebook has announced that it is to remove a handful of boosted post options. The company said that it was “removing the ability to boost some post types that are rarely used and, more importantly, are not closely tied to advertiser objectives”. The effected post types are “notes, life events, shared Friendsversaries and relationship status updates”, which were rarely promoted by advertisers. Facebook says that the removal of these options will allow them to “improve and expand [their] most effective ad products”. The changes will come into effect for advertisers on the 15th September 2017. Facebook has advised advertisers to move existing campaigns to supported ad types by the 29th September 2017.
