E-shopper Barometer Report Looks At European Ecommerce

DPDgroup has published its latest E-shopper Barometer report. The report looked at ecommerce across 21 European countries and found various patterns and changes in behaviour. It found that cross-border ecommerce is growing in popularity, with 54% of those questioned saying that they had bought an item from a website in another country. Of these shoppers, 20% said they had bought from a website outside of Europe, with Chinese websites such as AliExpress being the most popular non-European destinations. The study also looked at the devices that shoppers are buying from, and found that laptop and desktop computers are the most common devices. That being said, the number of people buying from a smartphone is 39%, up 5% on last year, meaning that ecommerce sites would be wise to optimise their sites for various devices.
