Cuba has revealed that it has been running trials that could eventually lead to the development of ecommerce services in the country. Since summer last year, it has been working to create an electronic payment gateway, whereby users can connect their bank account to their mobile phone. This could lead to the introduction of mobile banking and paying bills online. Since it began its trials, it has solved problems to do with identity verification and reverse transactions. The Cuban government says that the trails form part of its overall goal to create a more computerised society.Â
