The Cyberspace Administration Of China has announced new rules for all apps. From the 1st of August, all app developers targeting China must track user log information and store it for at least 60 days, and track users' real identities by using their phone numbers. They must ensure that all user information is stored in a secure system and proactively tell users why they are collecting data from them. They must also create censorship systems that can identify and delete illegal content. The systems must have warning, restriction, suspension and permanent banning features. They must also ensure that the app does not automatically download other apps onto the user's phone.Â
