Bing launches Entity Search API

Bing Entity Search API incorporates rich data from Bing Knowledge Graph into apps and websites

Bing Entity Search API has been launched in 11 markets, including the US and the UK. The API allows developers and webmasters to incorporate rich data from the Bing Knowledge Graph directly into their apps and websites. Entity types in the Knowledge Graph include places, famous people, books, films, TV shows and video games. To help illustrate its usefulness, Bing provided several examples of how businesses could use the API, such as using it in a messaging app to provide an entity snapshot of a restaurant, thereby making it simpler for a group of friends to book a table. Bing hopes that the API will make life simpler for users, who will be able to perform searches in context, without having to switch to a separate search app.
