Mobile sales in the Asia Pacific region are expected to almost double before 2020, and hit the 1 trillion US dollar milestone. The industry was worth 539 billion US dollars in 2016, with almost a third of all mobile sales being made up by clothing. The report by Forrester also forecasts that China will become the first individual nation to reach the 1 trillion US dollar milestone during the same period. Satish Meena said in the report that the growth would be caused by the “increased adoption of smartphones and tablets, as well as the development of 3G networks” and the falling cost of mobile devices.Â
