Alibaba To Sell Cars Through Vending Machines

Alibaba is preparing to begin selling cars through vending machines. Yu Wei, the general manager of the automotive division on Alibaba's Tmall platform, said that by next year users will be able to visit the marketplace's app, buy a car, and pick it up at huge vertical vending machines around China. Consumers with good credit on Alibaba's Sesame Credit service will be able to put down a 10% deposit and pay the rest in monthly instalments via Alipay. Cars can already be bought in China over the internet, with Maserati and Alfa Romero having sold hundreds of cars in less than a minute when they both launched their online sales.
