Amazon has announced that its Alexa virtual assistant is now available on the company’s Android app. Previously, the assistant had only been available to iPhone users. Users can use Alexa to check on the status of orders, delivery times and search for products within the marketplace app. The app also allows users to ask questions and control things that are arguably out-of-place within a shopping app, leading to speculation that the move may simply be a ploy to market Amazon’s Echo voice assistants. The feature is rolling out slowly across different regions around the world, and will available to all Android users around the world soon.
