British MPs have said that humans will need new skills in order to live alongside AI. MPs on the Science and Technology Committee have said that while AI will replace humans in certain jobs, people will need to develop new skills to fill jobs created by artificial intelligence. They said that whilst the technology has “huge potential”, governments need to address dangerous issues that AI brings with it. Currently, companies such as IBM, Google and Facebook are working on extremely developed AIs that work in specific roles. However, Chairwoman of the Science and Technology Committee in the UK, Dr Tania Mathias, has said that “it is vital that careful scrutiny of the ethical, legal, and societal ramifications of artificially intelligent systems begins now”.Â
