Get an ICP licence for your Chinese website

Websites in China need an ICP licence to avoid being blocked

Make sure your website is not blocked in China

China is a highly regulated market and websites hosted or cached on servers located in China require an Internet Content Provider (ICP) licence to avoid being blocked. We will apply for an ICP licence for your website on your behalf. We will work with our partners in China to get you the licence as quickly and trouble-free as possible.

An ICP licence can help…

  • 1

When you want to host web content within China.

  • 2

When you wish to deliver you web content via Content Delivery Networks (CDN) situated in China.

What is an ICP licence?

When you wish to host or cache a website on servers within China, you need an ICP licence.

ICP stands for Internet Content Provider and is a permit issued by the Chinese authorities to permit websites to operate in China. The relevant licence number usually appears in the footer of the licenced website.

However, even when you have a business entity in China, the process can be complicated. We will manage the application process and obtain your ICP licence for you.

How it works

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives and guide you through what documents and information are required. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks.

Dealing with the Chinese authorities can be complicated and it normally takes up to 25 days to obtain an ICP licence. We will apply for an ICP licence for your website and deal with all communications with the Chinese authorities.
