Utilise CAT tools
If you decide to use a translation management system (TMS) or computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool, then it can be beneficial to receive training because these tools are not always easy to use. We will provide tailored training on your specified tool via a video conference. This training session will be recorded and shared with you for your future reference. You will also receive a document containing additional information.

Why use CAT tools?
Sometimes you might decide to use a translation management system (TMS) or computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool. This can be useful if you use internal translators/reviewers or if you want to access a system as an internal project manager.
However, these tools are not always easy to use. If it is a tool that you are new to, and that we have experience using, we can offer a live training session/demonstration.
This will help you to get up to speed with the tool and will also give you the opportunity to ask questions about anything you are unsure of and get immediate answers.
We will record the training session and share it with you afterwards so that you can use it for future reference. We will also provide additional support documentation.
CAT tool training process
The process begins by completing a detailed briefing questionnaire to clarify your objectives. This briefing will be visible to all team members involved with delivering the service and is the foundation for all our quality checks.
We will need to know the following information in order for us to tailor the best training programme for your needs:
- Which tool are you using?
- What role are you undertaking?
- Which areas of the tool do you want to know more about?
- When are you available for the training session?
- Who will attend the training session?
Upon receipt of this information, we will create a tailored agenda for the training session to demonstrate the areas of the tool that you want to know more about. We will then schedule a video conference at a mutually convenient time.
The training will be delivered by your designated project manager, with help from a localisation engineer if appropriate. This training session will be recorded and shared with you afterwards for future reference. You will also receive a document containing useful links to further training resources.
Please note that we can only share what we already know. There might be tools or systems that we are unfamiliar with, or areas of the tool/system that we are not as experienced in using. However, we will always endeavour to provide you with as much information as we can, or point you to other training resources that can help you.
